This is a great idea for an article. Love the Red Faction guard quotes!

One of my favorites...

Glad you enjoyed it and that others share my kind of memory for this stuff. This is a topic I had in the back of my mind from day one but I was emboldened to write it by the astronomically, unexpectedly high performance of the C&C post.

I almost included Timesplitters on this list, Rare/Free Radical games always have a strong showing in this department and I can't tell you how many laughs I've had facing bots in Perfect Dark.

I love how bored he sounds as he says this lol

The original Lego Star Wars has some fantastic death noises (Yoda and R2-D2 are standouts) that will live forever in my mind whether I want them to or not

Metal Gear solid has so many quatables that I used for inside jokes until today. When I'd die any game I'd yell "snaaaaaake" or the name of the character. Iconic

"Is that your opinion, as a Kurd?"

"This is just like one of my Japanese Animes!"

"Fox.....Die!?"

I adore Metal Gear Solid, so many of the game's lines are etched into my brain. I watched a friend play it for the first time a couple of years ago and he was astounded at how many inside jokes I had with other friends were popping up as voice lines in the series.

Haha that would be fun to watch someone play whos never played. Even when Im trying to stealthy in any game I’ll go “Nothing here” in the soldiers accent

One of my favourites is from MGS2 *Thick, Fake Russian Accent* "Iz sambody there?"

There's no voice acting but the ghost of Alex Kidd jerkily floating up to heaven while a loud, descending, bleep-bloop soundtrack plays is an old school death-animation goodie.

Some of those 8-bit era ones are the most classic of all. I can hear the weird tip-tune swirl as Pac-Man's jaw opens wider until he vanishes
