I just got my black Sega Sports Edition Dreamcast out of storage. So stoked to play. Truly one of the greatest consoles of all time. Might have to finally beat Floigan Bros.

Enjoy it! Love this doomed little box of quirky games and arcade ports. I'm embarrassed to say I don't have a copy of Crazy Taxi right now, need to get on that.

Oh man! Do you at least have Crazy Taxi 2? I really want to get the European release of Shenmue 2 but I also want to see the dentist this year so it's a toss-up.

I don't! I need them. But I do have European Shenmue 2. It wasn't cheap but well-worth it; here in the UK we got it on both the DC and Xbox.

Definitely get em, just great games. Man, lucky for you! I think I own the only copy of Shenmue in all of Alaska, and that was only ‘cause an older kid gave it to me 25 years ago because he said it was “really boring,” haha.

I almost agree with him haha. It's one of those games I loved but think I would struggle to replay, if that makes sense? I don't know if there's much appeal when you know the story already, besides how tactile and relaxing the virtual tourism is.

Shenmue 2 is the better game I think.

I mean, probably not. I think Shenmue has to be played in a certain time in life to make an impact. Preferably young, without a job, and having loads of free time haha. I'll check out Shenmue Two!

The Dreamcast was a fighting game fan's dream—well, to be honest, it was a Capcom fighting game fan's dream. While a lot of good ports and games came from Sega, I have a lot of Capcom Dreamcast games. They also had the original release of Code: Veronica, among other games.

It's a shame how close to the sun this console got, but a lot of things in Sega's control kept them from another Sega golden age. Part of me still wishes Sega would try to make another console and just go insane with out-of-the-blue concepts.

Soul Calibur is still great today and Code: Veronica is probably in my top 3 for the RE series.

I have come to resent the Saturn because it essentially killed the DC before it had a chance.

Never had one and didn’t play it much, but it always seemed like such a cool system. The PS2 being able to play DVDs was huge too.

One of the biggest factors for sure, it caused a massive boom in DVD sales in Japan

I just remember the South Park episode where Eric Cartman keeps talking about getting a “Sega Dreamcaast”

I also still have and still love my DC. This was a great read.

It was a very cool console for very cool people, glad you enjoyed!
