Ok, I avoided the spoiler section since I want to play this game in the near future. But I confess that I laughed hard when I saw the MGS3 gif. XD

I'm really enjoying how you describe your experiences with the Switch 2. Your writing is conveying it pretty well and I enjoy how detailed your analysis are. Great stuff!

It always comes to mind when I write detailed descriptions of hardware and how it feels to use XD It’s something I’ve done often on the journal now and I can hear David Hayter’s voice while I write.

I’m glad you’re liking the posts! I’m going to pivot back to retro for a while now since August’s Nintendo exclusive is looking sketchy but rest-assured, more on the Switch 2 will come

Great write up, I agree that the Pro Controller 2 is way better than the original. Worth it I’d say. Have to say though that I won’t buy a controller now unless it has back buttons, I’ve always hated the left and right stick click. It just feels weird and uncomfortable to me, usually it’s a sprint mode or to activate something in game, so I always map these to the back buttons now. Maybe the Steam Deck has spoiled me.

Just received Bananza, so looking forward to playing it. Enjoyed reading your experience with it. I’m at an age now where an easier difficulty curve just suits me fine. I’m more n the Kirby camp nowadays 😂

That's a good use for them actually and considered that stick drift is always an omnipresent paranoia with any Switch gamepad it makes sense to try and preserve those analogues.

No shame in that! I think playing retro so much has destroyed my difficulty receptors in a lot of ways but there are certain games I like to pop in too that are low-challenge, high comfort and easy playing: Minecraft, Victoria 3 and basically any Halo game before 2012 fall into that camp for me

Good to hear that the first-party lineup seems to be free of big disasters so far - I really couldn't care less about Mario Kart, and I've never been a huge DK fan but good reception and what look like good priorities bodes well for the things I do care about. Well, thing. Metroid Prime. Don't screw this up. Too badly.

Really great stuff so far. I do quite like the 1 a month schedule at the moment, always something to look forward to and plenty of time to enjoy what launches; people are complaining a lot about no direct but really, besides answering the lingering question marks about release dates, I don't know what people want, if you take a second to think there's actually plenty to fill out the rest of the calendar.

Drag X Drive coming next month seems like it will be a bit of a dud but the Gradius Origins collection is also launching including a new entry in the series, really looking forward to that.
