It takes a special kind of person to put tamper-proof stickers on another company’s 30 year old hardware, to top it off 2/3 of these gamepads had irreparable damage, necessitating replacements or soldering
Oh same here for sure and also some items that just due to the nature of the market are rarer than in other places. It's £300 for the Sega CD add-on in the UK for example but Devil's Third: a pretty well-known rare Wii-U game in the US market is common and cheap here.
I’ve bought and sold quite a few games over the years but many sellers can’t even be bothered to write a decent description nowadays. I’ll only buy from a seller who takes the time to have decent pictures and a good description as well as close to 100% positive feedback from a decent amount of buyers. It’s a bit of a minefield on Ebay nowadays for private buyers and sellers and I tend to avoid it.
The filth sometimes is gross too. My family were big Ebayers back in the day and everything that was to be sold got a good clean; it was too embarrassing to post photos of sonething covered in dust and grime but sone of these people will literally pull your item out of an old box and sell it as-is.
I sold some Gameboy carts a few months ago, I had decided it was time to lighten my collection. Most went through okay but this one buyer bought a cart (genuine, clean and with a new battery, good description and photos) and then just didn’t pay. It was only around £15 but when I contacted them for payment I just got a ton of abuse back. Reported them to EBay, didn’t get any response from them and I have not listed anything since. I can handle non-payers, that’s fine, people do change their minds but the personal insults were just not worth the effort 🤷♂️
That's really shit, I've always heard Ebay is heavily weighted towards the buyer and not the seller but didn't realise it was that bad/easy to get away with
I nearly pissed myself at the tamper-proof stickers. Shame you voided your warranty with those knuckleheads.

Not to mention reseller prices are often overinflated. We have some shockers here in NZ that have become infamous in our retro gaming groups.
