At last we've come to the console that almost broke Nintendo. Genuinely, it walked so the Switch could run. It's maybe appropriate that right at the end of the Switch 1's run we got the last hidden gem from the Wii U.

If there's one good thing that came out of it, it's the Splatoon ip. For being on a struggling console, it did well enough that Nintendo has turned it into a new franchise, which feels like a once in a lifetime thing.

I hope you enjoy your break. Also, I'm looking forward to that retrospective on the Xbox. (I would say Xbox Series, but thanks to Microsoft's marketing team, that sounds like something else). The og Xbox itself was a fascinating console full of western y2k character, and I have vivid memories of seeing my best friend and his older brother playing it. I would also love to see a short preliminary initial impressions piece on the Switch 2!

Enjoy your break, and pray that the Switch 2 isn't as disappointing as the Wii-U! [it rhymes!]

The Wii U is such a sad tale. It really could have been something special. Instead it's the poster child for wasted potential.

Enjoy your break and see you on the other side of the Switch 2 release!

I agree. It had all the makings of a good console but a few key failures in its early years defined it forever.

See you then :) Hope the launch goes well, can’t wait
